Shenandoah National Park Information

There are over 500 miles of hiking trails in Shenandoah National Park. The Potomac Appalachian Trail Club publishes detailed maps of the trail system, in addition to guidebooks, and books detailing the Park's natural and cultural history. Vist the PATC on-line store to purchase these guides.

Many of the trails are accessible from the Park boundary, but the majority of visitors use the trailheads on Skyline Drive. The Drive is open throughout the year (with the exception of scheduled closings during hunting season), but may be closed during periods of inclement weather. Visitors may use the links and contact points listed below to plan their trips to the Park, and to learn more about the regulations associated with backpacking and hiking in the Park.
