TRAIL UNIVERSITY
The New York - New Jersey Trail Conference, in partnership with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, the National Park Service, the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, and the NY State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation, has launched a 5-year project designed to re-build the section of the Appalachian Trail over Bear Mountain.
In addition to the much-needed trail improvement, the partnership intends to use the project to develop training opportunities for volunteer trail maintainers. "Trail University" is an opportunity for experienced volunteers to learn advanced techniques in trail design and construction
