Attempts to trace the early history of the Blue and White Crew to Imhotep and the guilds of Egyptian builders, or to the great Freemason schisms of the 18th and 19th centuries are still ongoing. The modern history of the crew, though, begins in the early 1990s. Since that time, the crew has scheduled over 100 work trips to build and repair hiking trails in Shenandoah National Park, and to assist other trail managers in PATC-maintained regions.
