Summer Crew 1999
The 1999 Summer Crew tackled three projects: a tread rehab project at the top falls on the White Oak Canyon Trail, another tread rehab project on the AT near the Lewis Mt Campground, and the removal of large blowdowns on the Cedar Run Trail.
The White Oak project took three days, and included the removal of old drainage pipes, the installation of large locust checkdams, and re-grading (using approximately 10 tons of gravel, moved in drywall buckets).
Crew members included Ray Galles, Pete Curran, Kerry Snow and Sherry (?). Heidi Forrest worked with the crew on Monday. Park Service trail pros C.T.Campbell and Jeff Miner directed the work.
