Summer Crew 2001
The 2001 crew spent 4 days on the AT, near Marys Rock, rebuilding a section of CCC-era cribwall that had been damaged by flood and fire. The crew disassembled the remains of the wall, and then used high-line rigging to move the recovered stones into place. Tread, behind the new wall, was replaced with crush-and-fill created on-site, using mash hammers and lots of sweat.
After the cribwall was completed, the crew moved to lower Cedar Run to build new steps and restore damaged tread.
2001 crew members included Stan Turk, Pete Curran, Mike Fleming, Jim Hannon, Al Juliano, and Kerry Snow.
