| The March crew split into three groups. One group (Melanie, Kurt, Scott, and Tony) ran the White Oak - Cedar Run loop, cutting blowdown as they blew by. The second team cut over-winter blowdowns on the AT, starting at Skyland and ending at the Meadow Spring Trail. The third group teamed up with young volunteers from Batallion 555, cutting, skinning, and stashing 70 locust logs for 2008 treadwork project. Many thanks to the volunteers from Batallion 555, to Melanie Perl for hosting the overnight festivities at her home, and to Harry Glenn and Phil Barry for covering the south end of the AT (from Big Meadows to Swift Run Gap) during the week prior to the crew outing. |
