| Ten members of the Blue and White crew wrapped up their work-trip season on a warm November day by rehabbing the steep spur trail to Jones Mountain cabin. While seasoned veteran S. V. Dove reconstructed waterbars on the lower slopes, the summit team skinned 26 locust logs and turned the bulk of them into waterbars and checkdams that will welcome weary renters of this most remote cabin in Shenandoah. At Melanie's country retreat afterwards, the crew weighed the relative merits of Homer and Dante, and learned why a mugger shouldn't bring a knife to an axe-fight. |
