| The Blue and White Crew wrapped up their 2007 season with another visit to the "Mather Steps", the stone staircase that the crew has been building over the last two seasons. The crew worked Friday and Saturday, and bivouaced at the Highacre House in Harpers Ferry over the weekend. On Saturday, crew members installed the last of approximately 125 large stone steps on the steep trail. In addition to installing steps, the crew "paved" the short stretch of trail above the steps adjacent to the ATPO headquarters. The crew expects to return for a final visit in early 2008, to finish tread repairs and install rip-rap. |
